i have the temp. on 2 away from max. is this too cold for the unit?

Asked by: vocal
Hi vocal, This is a great question about this freezer! With freezers like this there is no "right" or "wrong" temperature, it really comes down to what you prefer. If you notice things freezing more than you'd like them to then we recommend turning the temperature one notch at a time. The correct operating temperature of chest and upright freezers, including smaller, compact models is -5 to +5 degrees Fahrenheit. In order to take the temperature of solid food, place a thermometer between frozen packages or in some ice cream. However, having the unit 2 away from the max temperature should not be an issue. If you begin to notice issues with the temperature feel free to reach out to us again! We will post the link to the use and care manual below. This shows how to properly use the temperature controls with this freezer! https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000422.pdf We hope this helps and have a great weekend! What are the interior dimensions? These are needed to plan the internal storage basket arrangement - in order to make things easier to get to. This would be helpful to be on the standard specs - not just external dimensions

Asked by: Subdriver73
Hi Subdriver73, We appreciate you reaching out to us. This is a great question and we are more than happy to help. The interior dimensions for this freezer are 32.3"(W) x 14.8"(D) x 27.6"(H). This is a great freezer and we hope this helps you out. Thank you so much. Take care out there. Jonathon@GEA

Can I order larger baskets to fit this freezer? It would help organize the freezer. The section underneath the baskets is large and hard to   The baskets are nice but very small.  Larger ones could hold more and then be lifted out to find food underneath.

Just got freezer yesterday from local dealer. After open the box today looks like the back panel where the power cord originates is missing? There even appears to be screw holes for a panel.

Asked by: Jimtw
Hi Jimtw, Thank you for reaching out. Congratulations on your new chest freezer. The rear of the unit near the compressor has an opening with no cover, this is normal. Thanks for checking. Jess@GEA

I just ordered a FCM7SKWW chest freezer for delivery in February 2021 and I am trying to sort out my location and power outlet proximity for placement of the unit. What is the location and length of the power cord?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Anonymous, Thank you for reaching out to us and choosing GE Appliances for your home. We apologize for our delay responding and are happy to help. The power cord is 5' long and is on the back at the bottom right corner when facing the front of the freezer. We hope this helps. Chase@GEA

How much clearance does this fridge need on the sides? Can it be flush against my refrigerator? I have plenty of height and depth clearance
