This ("Policy") describes how Aaron's, LLC, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and franchisees (collectively "Aaron's," "we" "our" or "us"), collects, uses and shares your information when you lease or purchase our products or otherwise interact or use our products or services (collectively, “Services”). Aaron's takes the privacy of its customers and visitors to its websites very seriously. We understand that you may have questions about how we collect, use, and share your information. This Policy describes the type of information we collect, how we use and share that information, how we protect that information, your choices regarding that information, and how you can contact us with any questions.
Our website is intended solely for users in the United States and Canada. If you are located outside of the United States and Canada and are accessing our website, your personal information as described in this Policy will be processed and stored in the United States, and the laws in the United States may not be as protective of personal information as laws in your resident country. If you do not agree with the processing of your personal information in the United States, or you do not otherwise accept this Policy or the Terms of Use, please discontinue your use of the website.
From you. We may collect personal information and other information that you provide when you become a customer (such as when you purchase or lease items from us), sign up for our newsletters, create an account, join Aaron’s Club or file a Club claim, interact with our chatbot, enroll in automatic payments, visit our social media pages, enter a promotion, apply for a lease or a line of credit with us or otherwise enter into a contractual arrangement, apply to a position posted on our Careers platform, or otherwise use our Services.
From devices you use when you interact with us online. This includes personal information we collect from affiliates and third-party collaborators, as well as other public sources, including, but not limited to, websites that enable social sharing, social media sites, and websites from our service providers, vendors, our affiliates, or other individuals and businesses. If you provide Personal Information to us regarding others, we rely on you to obtain that other person's consent for disclosing their information to us and inform that other person about how we will use the information and our contact details for any queries.
From third parties and publicly available sources. This includes personal information we collect from other public sources, including, but not limited to websites that enable social sharing, social media sites, and websites from our service providers, vendors, our affiliates, or other individuals and businesses. If you provide Personal Information to us regarding others, we rely on you to obtain that other person's consent for disclosing their information to us and inform that other person about how we will use the information and our contact details for any queries.
From you in person. This includes personal information we collect through our Services, such as entering into a contractual arrangement with Aaron’s at physical store locations, submitting a lease application, or participating in an Aaron’s event.

You must be 18 years or older to use our Services. Our Services are for a general audience, are not targeted to children, and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age.

The websites and third-party content to which we link may have separate privacy notices or policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites.
If you provide any personal information through a third-party site, your interaction and your personal information will be collected by and controlled by the privacy policy of that third party site. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and practices of any such third parties, which are not governed by this Policy.
We use CCTV video recording to protect the physical security of our property and Services in line with applicable laws. We do this to comply with our contractual obligations (e.g., with customers and insurers) and our internal physical security policies to safeguard our properties, workplaces, people and data.
When you use our Services, our third-party advertising partners, social media providers, and analytics providers may collect personal information about your online activity on our Services and on third party websites.
These providers may set web tracking tools (e.g., cookies and web beacons, as discussed further below) to collect information regarding your online activity. In addition, our advertising partners may use this information to deliver advertisements to you when you visit third party websites within their networks. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures designed to safeguard information in its possession against loss, theft, unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification. However, the confidentiality of information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. We urge you to exercise caution when transmitting personal information over the internet. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTIES WILL NOT GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION; THEREFORE, WHEN SUBMITTING PERSONAL INFORMATION TO US, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
We and our partners use various tools to collect data when you visit our sites and apps, including cookies, pixels, localStorage, and other similar technologies. Some of these technologies store data in the browser or on your device. Other technologies may use network-related or other information to recognize your device (e.g., IP address). Our Services use these technologies, for example, when you first request a web page and data is then stored on your computer or other device so the website or mobile application can access personal information when you make subsequent requests for pages from that Service. Some browsers permit the user to send a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) preference to websites that the user visits indicating that the user does not wish to be tracked over time and across websites. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret DNT, we do not currently respond to the DNT signal on our websites. We do, however, respond to the global privacy preferences when required by law.
We may periodically send promotional materials or notifications related to our Services. If you no longer wish to receive promotional marketing materials from us, you may opt out of receiving such materials. You may unsubscribe from receiving marketing or other commercial emails from us by following the instructions included in the email.
You may unsubscribe from text messages you previously consented to by following the prompt provided on our messages. We will work to comply with your request promptly.
There are certain service notifications and other non-promotional emails that you may not opt out of, such as notifications of changes to our Services or policies or information about your order, such as shipping information.
Consumers of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding their personal information. This Section provides information for consumers in California and other states with similar privacy laws (“Relevant Laws”). Under these Relevant Laws, “Personal Data” and/or “Personal Information” generally means information that identifies, relates to, or describes a particular consumer in California or other state with a similar privacy law. For purposes of this Section, “Personal Information” is synonymous with “Personal Data”.
Some states define “sale” as the exchange of information for monetary consideration, while other states define “sale” as providing your information in exchange for valuable consideration, which may or may not be monetary. We do not “sell” Personal Information, as defined under California and other similar state privacy laws. However, we do engage in targeted advertising, which helps to serve you with Aaron’s ads when you are not on our site. Note that the definition of “sale” under Colorado and Connecticut laws is different, and targeted advertising could be considered “selling” under Colorado and Connecticut laws or “sharing” under California law.
In addition, we may process each category of Personal Information in order to protect Aaron’s and others’ rights, and/or to complete a merger, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction, which is not included in the definition of “sale” under California or other similar state privacy laws. Please see the “Use and Disclosure” section above for more details about our purposes for processing, including how other parties may process Personal Information.
This Section provides details about the categories of Personal Information of consumers in California and other states with similar privacy laws that we have collected, disclosed, “shared”, “sold”, or processed for purposes of targeted advertising, as well as rights consumers have under Relevant Laws. Based on your interactions with us, we may not have collected, disclosed, “shared”, “sold”, or processed for purposes of targeted advertising each (or any) of these categories of Personal Information for each listed purpose.

We collect this Personal Information directly from consumers who reside in California and other states with similar privacy laws, as well as from social media platforms; referrals; joint marketing, co-branding, co-promotional, or advertising partners; and sources of demographic and other information, including through devices you used to interact with us through our Services, consumer data resellers, and publicly available information. All sources of Personal Information collected are noted in the “How Do We Collect Personal Information” and “The Types of Personal Information We May Collect From You” sections above. Based on the individual’s interactions with us, we may not have collected Personal Information from each (or any) of these sources.
Consumer Rights Under California and other Similar State Privacy Laws

We are required by law to verify your identity depending on the type of request in order to prevent unauthorized access of your data. Failure to verify your identity may result in your request not being processed. Right to Know and Access: You have the right to confirm whether we are processing Personal Information about you and to request that we disclose to you the Personal Information we collected from or about you in a portable form. We also honor alternative opt-out signals, such as the Global Privacy Control. We process opt-out preference signals in a frictionless manner. Please note that we do not sell Personal Information for monetary consideration.
Right to Correct: You have a right to request the correction of inaccurate Personal Information that we may have on file about you. Authorized Agent
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to submit a request through an authorized agent. If you are an authorized agent acting on behalf of a consumer residing in California or another state with a similar privacy law, you must be able to demonstrate that you have the requisite authorization to act on behalf of the consumer.
Automated Processing/Profiling
In order to provide our products and Services, we use certain types of automated processing in furtherance of our underwriting program. This type of processing may constitute “profiling” (“Profiling”) under some privacy laws, which means we use a form of automated processing to analyze your personal information in order to make decisions related to applications for a lease.
Our Profiling system is essential to the provision of our products and Services. However, if you would like your application reviewed without the use of Profiling, you may complete your lease application in person at an Aaron’s store near you. You can find a nearby Aaron’s retail location at Find Store.
Please note that Profiling provides benefits to our customers by offering a smoother and quicker underwriting process. If you choose to have your application reviewed without the use of Profiling, your application may be delayed.
Your rights under Canadian privacy legislation. If you are from Canada, you may have the following rights with respect to personal information. Note that we are required by law to verify your identity in connection with any request in order to prevent unauthorized access of your data. Failure to verify your identity may result in your request not being processed. Where required by applicable law, we will notify you if we deny your request and notify you of the reasons we are unable to honor your request.
Right to Know and Access Personal Information: You may request to access information we have collected and maintain about you. If your request is granted, we will provide you with a copy of the personal information we have collected and maintained about you in a portable manner. Please note that, in some instances, we may decline to honor your request or only honor your request in part, where, for example, we are unable to verify your identity or an exception to this right applies.
Deletion of Personal Information: You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you. Please note that, in some instances, we may decline to honor your request or only honor your request in part, where, for example, we are unable to verify your identity or an exception to this right applies.

Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Policy at any time, subject to certain legal restrictions and reasonable notice to us. Note that if you withdraw your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Policy, we may no longer be able to provide you our Services.

We are based in the United States. Any information you provide to us through use of the Services may be stored and processed, transferred between, and accessed from the United States and other countries which may not guarantee the same level of protection of personal information as the one in which you reside. We may need to send your personal information overseas as part of our normal business operations. Provided the data protection laws of these other countries differ from those in the United States, please be assured that we take reasonable steps to ensure that your privacy is protected.
We may update this policy from time to time. To the extent permitted by law, any changes to this Policy will be posted to the websites and will become effective upon posting. Any changes will be effective only after the effective date of the change and will not affect any dispute arising prior to the effective date of the change.
