Rated 2 out of 5 by from Marginal I will get my use out of it, however when I am in the market for a "Better" product to take of my needs I "will not" get this item again! I have Sweetgum trees and it is very marginal with it's leaves and balls!!!!! If not used or has set for a while (2-3 weeks) it is Very hard to start!! Starter fluid did not even help! Also if any one other than a young, healthy and strong person is going to use it, get the self propelled one. I didn't and it's work to maneuver it around! My neighbor did not use it very long and gave it back. They raked instead! Just one person's experience, hope you have better luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this machine! I previously owned the Sears version which was also great, but did not have the self-propelled feature which I always wanted. This powerful machine saves me tons of time with my cleanup. Instead of blowing the leaves and then having to pick them up and bag them, I vac them up and the machine grinds them up with an 8:1 reduction. I also use the hose to get into flower beds and shrubs, which would otherwise need hand-cleaning. One suggestion would be to make the hose diameter about an inch larger; it easily clogs if you try to vacuum too aggressively. Otherwise, it's a perfect machine! Thanks!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointment This is my first troy-bilt purchase. I have used the CSV 070 this week and have some feedback on your equipment. I like the self-propelled feature. The unit does okay on the lawn and hard surfaces. One of the reasons I purchased the unit was for the hose feature. This is my disappointment. The hose is awkward and clumsy to manuever. It requires frequent repositioning of the main unit to get to the leaves. I also challenge the 8:1 reduction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money WELL spent I just finished using it and WOW!!! Just so you get the TRUE effect of how well this machine works, let me give you a few facts. First, this was my first time setting foot out in my yard to pick up leaves since they started falling in late September (today is November 29th), that's just about 9 weeks of leaf falling and countless rainstorms over the past two months. Second, I didn't get that last cut in before the leaves started falling, so my grass is kinda long. Well, the temp was 70 degrees today, so I went out and pulled the cord and the rest is history. I wish I could post pictures. Right now I'm looking at a very GREEN yard. This thing pulled the leaves right up through the long grass. I HIGHLY recommend the self-propelled because this machine does a great job at mulching so it will compact a LOT of leaves into the bag and you WILL feel the weight if you don't have the self-propelled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid/Dependable I have owned my chipper vac since 2005. Starts every year with just a couple of pulls on the starter cord. Runs everytime. Does a great job vacuuming leaves and debris. I can run it all day with just a couple of fuel stops. Would be nice if it had electric start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Yard Purchase ever! I've had this chipper shredder vac for over 5 years. Yesterday I vacuumed my yard, driveway and front lawn in 90 minutes. My driveway is 90 feet long and 12 feet wide. Previously this job would have taken 8 hours. The 8 to 1 reduction saves a fortune on heavy duty lawn bags. I got all of my fallen leaves in three (3) bags. It starts on the third pull after sitting in the garage for 10-11 months. With regular use it starts on the first pull. Cons:1) Pulling the starter cord requires some effort. The wife can't do it. I am 70 yrs old and I can. 2) Emptying the bag is a pain in the butt! If you fill the bag until it cannot hold any more leaves, then you need two people to empty the bag. One to hold the bag and one to scoop out the leaves. This was the most common complaint in the reviews I read 5 years ago. However, there is a solution. DON'T FILL THE BAG TILL IT CAN'T HOLD ANY MORE. FILL IT To 2/3's OF CAPACITY AND THE LEAVES WILL TUMBLE OUT BY THEMSELVES. I recommend this product 100%!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well I purchased this with a manual start. First time using , easy to start. When I turn it off to empty the bag you have to wait 15-20 minutes for it to. " cool down" to start it again. Other than that it picks up leaves and a good portion of acorns fairly well. If I had to purchase this again, I would definitely get one with electric start and not a manual pull

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vac review The Self-Propelled Wood Chipper Shredder Vacuum is a good product. start easy, reduce yard wastes saving on plastics bags. The leaf detachment is awkward to use and could be longer so you don't have to reposition the vac all the time. has great suck en. yard looks great when done. Still getting use to taken the leaf bag off and emptying it.
