Does Aaron's check my credit?
As part of our digital approval processes, Aaron’s will check credit history and creditworthiness and rely upon customer reports and information obtained from third-parties in considering your application. We do check credit sources; however, we look at many other data points to make a final decision, and we regularly approve customers that other stores won’t, including customers with less than perfect credit or very little credit history.
How do I make my payments?
Your first payment for an online order must be made using a debit or credit card. Once the first payment is made, your local store will accept cash, checks, money orders, and all major credit cards, or you can continue to pay online. If you are interested in online payments, please go to myaccount.aarons.com and click on “Register.”
Can I pay out my lease early?
Yes. You can purchase the product at any time. If your ownership plan is longer than 6 months, you can take advantage of Aaron’s same as cash option. For those new agreements with a payment option longer than 6 months, if you payout your merchandise within the applicable same as cash period, you will pay the cash price, plus tax and applicable fees (if any). The same as cash period varies by location but is generally 120 days. For California residents the same as cash option is 90 days for all rental purchase agreements.
In addition, after the same as cash option expires, you can purchase the merchandise for more than the cash price but less than the total of remaining lease payments, as described in your lease agreement. This early purchase option amount varies by state and is explained in the lease agreement.
What is Aaron's return policy?
Once your item has been delivered, you can contact your local store to schedule a time for return or pick-up as stated in your agreement. However, you will not receive a refund. But don’t forget about our lifetime reinstatement benefit; you can restart your lease anytime you like on the same or comparable value merchandise (excludes lawn equipment). See a store associate for complete details.

Can a heat strip be added to this unit?

Asked by: Burrr77000
Hello Burrr77000 - Thanks for reaching out to us, that's a great question! I am sorry to say that a part like this cannot be added to the existing air conditioning unit. - Trey@GEA

I just installed this today. I put the heat mode on and turned the temp up so it will heat to that temperature. It is only pushing out cool air, I left it on for about 30 minutes ro see if the air coming out of the unit will get warmer. It didn't.

My question has to do with the 'normal' operations of this unit, when the fan is in Auto, and the Energy Saver Mode is applied. My Unit never shuts off. It sounds as though the compressor is cycling, but fan never stops. Is this normal.

Asked by: Kenny28
Hi Kenny28 - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! Yes, this is normal operation. The Energy Saver (or Eco on some models) controls the fan. When Energy Saver is On, the fan cycles off with the compressor. We suggest viewing page 5 of the Use and Care Manual for details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7665-1.pdf Keep in touch!

We purchased this unit and would like to permanently install into a wall. Is this possible?

Asked by: slgray
Hi there, This unit is designed to be installed in a window. There are air conditioner units that can be built into the wall but this unit requires a window to be properly installed. If you would like to take a look at your model's installation instructions, you can do so here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7838.PDF If you are looking for a built in model, you can take a look at what we offer here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-category/room-air-conditioners?TYPE=Built-In We hope that this helped! Thank you so much for leaving a question for us.

Hello, I was wondering whether or not the A/C is waterproof and if it would get broken from the rain.

Asked by: Bob109
Hi Bob109 - Some Room Air Conditioner models will have air vents across the top of the outer case. These are there to help keep the Condensor and Compressor cool. Some rain water may fall into the outer case of the unit. The components are weather protected and can take the rain, wind and other conditions without damaging the unit. The units fan slinger system will pick up the water and blow it on the condenser coils which will evaporate the water. Also, the side louvers are directed upwards, this design has been tested and proven to be the best at moving air in and around the Compressor and Condenser to help keep the unit operating at peak efficiency. Again some rain water may fall into the outside of the case, however it will not cause any damage to the unit and no water will migrate into the room side portion of the Air Conditioner. Does this unit use heat strips or a heat pump and what outside temperature will it work until?

Asked by: cpride073
Hi cpride073- The unit uses electric resistance heating (not heat pump). During the heat cycle "resistance" heaters are energized and warm air is blown into the room. These are coil heaters similar to electric dryer heaters. In a warm climate, a heat pump is more efficient, while in a cold climate (average temp below 35 consistently) a heat-cool unit (AHE08AX) is more efficient. Keep in touch!

I just had a heater/air conditioner installed in a wall rather than a window.  The heat come on for 2 seconds and shuts off.  It looks like there is an error code of 8.8.

Asked by: Marcella11150
Hi Marcella11150- Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of the fault/error code. Fault codes are programmed in air conditioner controls to help GE Appliances service technicians quickly diagnose issues with the unit. In the event that the electronic control displays an EP fault code, a trained service technician should be called to diagnose and correct the issue. Also, try pressing the RESET button located on the power plug. If the RESET button will not stay engaged, service is required. To reset the electronics, unplug for at least 30 seconds or so. Seems like its not heating like its suppose! Only seems to blow cold air out! Nothings blocking air flow think ive looked at everything so what could be the problem?

Asked by: Cole86
Hi Cole86- We are sorry to hear your unit is not heating. When the unit is first turned on, you will need to allow time for the room to warm up. The temperature control may not be set low enough. The temperature can be set between 61F and 86F in 1degree increments. The heater will cycle on and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort. See the following troubleshooting link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16771 For further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ Keep in touch!

we have fairly new wall cooling only ac unit.AEL08LVL1 and trying to understand how to keep it from turning on and off. The thermostat sensor is not blocked by anything. Everyone is bothered by the noise which isn't often but enough to wake them up

Asked by: Meg E
Hello Meg E, I am happy to help. It sounds like you have Energy Saver ON. It is normal for the fan to cycle off and then back on in this mode. This on/off cycle can repeat multiple times. Because the fan will cycle off, you may notice a variation in room temperature and humidity. You can change it to Energy Saver OFF-When this mode is not engaged, the fan will run continuously, and in Cool mode the compressor will cycle on and off to maintain room temperature. For reference, see page 5 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7719-1.pdf I hope this helps.

Why does my heat only blow out air that is only a couple of degrees warmer that ambient temp? I've gone through and checked all of the normal stuff.

Asked by: Jq77
Hi Jq77- Thanks for your purchase! An electronic thermostat is used to maintain the room temperature. The heater will cycle on and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort. A thermostat is a device that opens or closes a switch in an electrical circuit as a direct result of changes in temperature. Opening and closing this switch turns fan motors, compressors or resistance heaters off and on as required to maintain room temperatures. The thermostat is located so that it senses the temperature of the room air before it is cooled or heated by the evaporator or heater. On air conditioners with an electronic thermostat (higher end models), the maximum temperature fluctuation is approximately 3 degrees F., for more stable personal comfort. Use the Increase/Decrease pads to set the desired temperature between 61F and 86F in 1F degree increments. See page 5 of the Owner's Manual for reference to this option: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7665-1.pdf If the unit does not warm as it should, we suggest to view the Troubleshooting Tips on page 14 of the Owner's Manual.
