Does Aaron's check my credit?
As part of our digital approval processes, Aaron’s will check credit history and creditworthiness and rely upon customer reports and information obtained from third-parties in considering your application. We do check credit sources; however, we look at many other data points to make a final decision, and we regularly approve customers that other stores won’t, including customers with less than perfect credit or very little credit history.
How do I make my payments?
Your first payment for an online order must be made using a debit or credit card. Once the first payment is made, your local store will accept cash, checks, money orders, and all major credit cards, or you can continue to pay online. If you are interested in online payments, please go to myaccount.aarons.com and click on “Register.”
Can I pay out my lease early?
Yes. You can purchase the product at any time. If your ownership plan is longer than 6 months, you can take advantage of Aaron’s same as cash option. For those new agreements with a payment option longer than 6 months, if you payout your merchandise within the applicable same as cash period, you will pay the cash price, plus tax and applicable fees (if any). The same as cash period varies by location but is generally 120 days. For California residents the same as cash option is 90 days for all rental purchase agreements.
In addition, after the same as cash option expires, you can purchase the merchandise for more than the cash price but less than the total of remaining lease payments, as described in your lease agreement. This early purchase option amount varies by state and is explained in the lease agreement.
What is Aaron's return policy?
Once your item has been delivered, you can contact your local store to schedule a time for return or pick-up as stated in your agreement. However, you will not receive a refund. But don’t forget about our lifetime reinstatement benefit; you can restart your lease anytime you like on the same or comparable value merchandise. Lawn equipment, seasonal items, and special order merchandise are excluded from the lifetime reinstatement benefit. See a store associate for complete details.

The filter light came on and the unit is now beeping and turning off, nothing I do is resetting it and unit won’t stay on, this is only the second summer in use. What can I do to fix??

Asked by: Jallan55
Hello Jallan55, Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry to know that your air conditioner is not running properly. We understand how frustrating that must be. There are several things that you can check if you do not feel any air movement from the front or do not hear any noise: Check to make sure the unit is still plugged in. Check to make sure the selector switch is turned on. Check the thermostat setting and make sure it is set properly. If possible, plug another appliance into the outlet and make sure it is still working. If outlet is not working, check house circuit breaker or fuse. If the power cord has a current interrupter device, press the TEST button and then the RESET button while it is still plugged into the outlet. If you have determined that none of these tips will resolve your issue, then you may need to consider scheduling service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us via social media or through our Contact Us page. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA

I removed the drain plug to drain the water that pools in the pan because mold was growing in it. Now I can’t find the drain plug. Is there any way to get a replacement?

Asked by: connerg117
Hi connerg117, thanks for checking with us! We're sorry to hear that you can't find your drain plug. We apologize for the inconvenience, but these models do not have many replaceable parts and we do not have a part number for your drain plug. We recommend checking with your local hardware store to see if they can help you out with a replacement. We hope this helps! -Megan@GEA

Just installed our smart unit and turned it on for the first time. There’s no air blowing out. What would cause that? First time use, so thinking it’s a defect.

Asked by: Nancy833
Hi there Nancy833, Thank you for reaching out. We're so sorry to hear that your air conditioner is not working properly. We can understand how frustrating that would be. Verify the outlet you have the air conditioner plugged into is working properly. Also, If the plug is not tight in the outlet, it may not make a good connection. If the outlet is not working or the plug is loose in the outlet, we recommend having an electrician check the outlet. Make sure the breaker in the circuit breaker box has not tripped. On occasion a power surge can cause the circuit breaker to open and prevent the unit from operating. The air conditioner should be on a dedicated circuit. If there are other products on the same circuit, they could cause the breaker to trip. The plug has a GFI (GFCI) with a Reset button. Unplug the unit from the wall, press the Reset button on the power plug, and plug back in. If that does not resolve the issue, we recommend you make a warranty claim. To initiate the warranty claim, please call 1-800-GE-CARES (1-800-432-2737). We hope this information helps. Best wishes!

The air conditioner keeps jumping to fan and not stay on cool. I keep resetting it to cool and after a few minutes it goes to fan. Is there something I should be doing differently

Asked by: Terri 71
Hello Terri 71! Thanks for reaching out to us. We're sorry that your unit is not working properly. We see how this can be frustrating. We recommend disconnecting your unit from power then reconnecting it. If this does not resolve the issue, we recommend having a qualified service technician properly diagnose your air conditioner. You can find a local technician who services air conditioning units near you. Stay safe! Emily@GEA

I have a GE - AHY08LZW1 and I'm wondering if it's possible for the air conditioner to blast cold air only instead of a cycle of cold air for 8 minutes then hot air for around 15. it's been like this since I got the air conditioner 3 days ago.

Asked by: Chrissfive
Hello Chrissfive, Thanks so much for reaching out. If you want to ensure that your air conditioner only produces cold air, you can set the mode to Cool Mode and set the temperature to a lower temperature. You can read more instructions on page 6 of the owner's manual. https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000469.pdf We hope this helps. Can the front grill/cover be removed so that drain pan tablets and cleaning can be done inside the unit? I have a GE that grew mold on the Styrofoam and can't clean it because the cover is not removable.

Asked by: Merzpost
Hello Merzpost! Thanks for your question. You can remove the grille by pulling downward on the tabs at the top upper corners of the inlet grille until the grille is in a 45º position. We hope this helps! Emily@GEA

Why does my GE Air Conditioner keep freezing up on the inside I took the filter out to see why it wasn't blowing Cold air and it was a Block of ice (practically) I thawed it out yesterday and it is Frozen again today I bought it in May

Asked by: RichardB63
Hello RichardB63, Thank you for reaching out. We're so sorry to hear that your air conditioner is freezing up. We can understand how frustrating that can be. Several common problems can cause air conditioner freeze-ups: Insufficient Air Flow: Anything that restricts air flow will cause the temperature of the system's evaporator coil to drop below freezing. Humidity in the air will collect on the coil causing ice to build-up and diminish the system's cooling capacity. Dirty air filters can seriously impede air flow. Outdoor Temperature: Most air conditioning units do not function well in temperatures below 60 degrees F. If night-time temperatures are too low, the system will not operate properly and freeze-ups can occur. If you continue to experience issue please schedule service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online with at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm We hope this helps. Best wishes.

Asked by: WhoGal420
Hi WhoGal420 - Thank you for reaching out to us at GE Appliances. I regret to hear of the difficulty you're having and I am happy to assist you. Based on your description, I believe what you are seeing is actually an error code. Try disconnecting power to the air conditioner for 2-3 minutes to reset the electronics (similar to rebooting your computer). If the issue persists, there is an issue with your air conditioner. What are the decibels at different settings?

Asked by: Hildagaard
Hi Hildagaard - Thanks for reaching out! With few exceptions, sone or decibel ratings are not available for room air conditioners They are not all rated for sound performance. Models that are will show the rating in the specifications. This unit does not have a decibel rating in the specifications list on the product page. With residential air conditioners, sound levels are actually more dependent on installation factors than on the sound produced by the unit. The installation variables can depend on (but is not limited to): Location of the unit (ex. attic, etc.) Type of unit (wall or window mounted) How it is mounted. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. - Trey@GEA

Should this ac unit be leaking extra water from the front panel? It’s bran new and it’s only 76 degrees outside.

Asked by: ADR31
Hello ADR31 - Thank you for reaching out about your excellent air conditioner. If water is leaking inside the room, we recommend making sure the unit is slightly tilted to the rear. It should be about 1/4" higher in the front. This will ensure that any excess water on humid days will leak outside of the house. Keep in touch!

Cannot get unit to connect to WiFi network. I am 100%sure the password is correct. Is there a range of how far the unit can be from the wifi setup? Should the unit be on or off? If the wifi light stops flashing and becomes solid, what does that mean?

Asked by: WhoGal420
Solid wifi light means it is connected to the wifi and ready to use with the software with Comfort GE app. I had to press my actual Netgear wifi router button on top for wireless add-on to blink and enable the upstairs GE AC unit to connect and work with this app. I then pressed the wifi button on the GE ac unit. It then finally connected. Until then, all I had was "error", in the app from GE, and did I have the proper password, etc.... Hope this helps!
