Does Aaron's check my credit?
As part of our digital approval processes, Aaron’s will check credit history and creditworthiness and rely upon customer reports and information obtained from third-parties in considering your application. We do check credit sources; however, we look at many other data points to make a final decision, and we regularly approve customers that other stores won’t, including customers with less than perfect credit or very little credit history.
How do I make my payments?
Your first payment for an online order must be made using a debit or credit card. Once the first payment is made, your local store will accept cash, checks, money orders, and all major credit cards, or you can continue to pay online. If you are interested in online payments, please go to myaccount.aarons.com and click on “Register.”
Can I pay out my lease early?
Yes. You can purchase the product at any time. If your ownership plan is longer than 6 months, you can take advantage of Aaron’s same as cash option. For those new agreements with a payment option longer than 6 months, if you payout your merchandise within the applicable same as cash period, you will pay the cash price, plus tax and applicable fees (if any). The same as cash period varies by location but is generally 120 days. For California residents the same as cash option is 90 days for all rental purchase agreements.
In addition, after the same as cash option expires, you can purchase the merchandise for more than the cash price but less than the total of remaining lease payments, as described in your lease agreement. This early purchase option amount varies by state and is explained in the lease agreement.
What is Aaron's return policy?
Once your item has been delivered, you can contact your local store to schedule a time for return or pick-up as stated in your agreement. However, you will not receive a refund. But don’t forget about our lifetime reinstatement benefit; you can restart your lease anytime you like on the same or comparable value merchandise (excludes lawn equipment). See a store associate for complete details.

How many loads can this machine hold?  Is a load measured by weight or by how full the machine is?

Asked by: KevinCA
Hello KevinCA, Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in GE Appliances. We are happy to help. A washer is not limited in practical terms by the pounds or weight of clothes it can wash. It is limited by the volume of clothes that can be put in the machine. There is not a standard of determining the loads the washer can hold. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Del@GEA

The locking mechanism to secure the lid will not engage. Electronically speaking, everything seems to work just fine while selecting the wash settings. However, the washer stays stuck in silent limbo with a closed lid even after pressing the start button.

Asked by: Denz37
Hello Denz37 - We hope you are doing well. We are sorry to hear about the washer lid issue and we are certainly happy to offer some assistance in this matter. We know just how frustrating that can be. The first thing we would recommend is to reset the electronics of the washer. This can be done by removing the power cord for 2 minutes and plugging it back in. If this doesn't resolve the issue then we would absolutely suggest getting a service technician out to the home for proper diagnostics and repair. You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliance technician by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm Keep in touch and stay safe! Hey Ronnie30, Thank you for reaching out to us here at GEA. We thank you for being a valued part of our GEA family and we are here to assist you with your temperature question. how many gallons of water is used per cycle?

Asked by: JS HD
Good afternoon JS HD, This is a great model washer and we appreciate you being part of the GEA family! The amount of gallons of water used for a wash cycle depends on the weight of the load and the cycle that's been selected. This model has 13 different wash cycles and options so we are not able to determine the exact amount of water used without knowing the specific cycle. The water usage per cycle varies between 9-26 gallons with an average gallon usage of 18. If you would like to reach back out to us with a specific wash cycle we would be happy to find out the average usage for that cycle! Thank you again for reaching out and have a great day! Drew@GEA

GTW490ACJWW - I asked about where to add the fabric softener in and received a reply in the agitator - this model DOES NOT have an agitator. So please tell me how do I add fabric softener?

Asked by: iluv2go
Hi iluv2go, We are so sorry to hear that you are still having trouble with your fabric softener. The model you sent us shows that you have an infusor at the bottom of your tub. With models containing an infusor you should be able to take off the top circular piece of the infusor revealing a spot to put your fabric softener. Follow these steps to use this feature. 1. Measure the manufacturer's recommended amount of concentrated or "ultra" liquid fabric softener into the bottle's cap. 2. Open the sealed dispenser's tab on the Infusor and pour the softener into the dispenser. 3. After the softener has drained into the dispenser, push the dispenser tab down. 4. Continue with adding your detergent and your wash load. 5. After closing the lid, select a Fabric Softener option on the control panel of your washer. It must be selected for the fabric softener to dispense properly. This video should also help you: https://youtu.be/wDQ2En-aPaA We apologize this is causing you issues and are hopeful that this will solve your issues. Drew@GEA

What do you do if you like to add some fabric softener to your wash?

Asked by: iluv2go
Hello Iluv2go, Thank you for reaching out to us here at GEA! We are happy to assist! Here are the steps to adding fabric softener to your washer. You will pour the fabric softener into the agitator cap at the top of the agitator. There should be a fill line there for the amount required. The fabric softener dispenser automatically releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time during the cycle. Here is a link below to assist you. See page 14 for visual assistance and steps. https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-3000255.pdf Please let us know if you have any additional questions! DOES THIS WASHER MODEL HAVE A FABRIC SOFTENER DISPENCER

Asked by: ALICE6
RE: GTW490ACJ5WS washing machine. I just got off the phone with GE help line. I was told there is a fabric softner and detergent dispenser tray. Open the lid and feel under the control panel side. There will be the dispenser tray, fabric softner on the left, detergent on the right. I can feel something there. There is no way to see because it is behind the metal lip of the washer, and clearly is designed not to be pulled out. I would only see it by pushing my phone into the gap, taking a photo of it and looking at the photo. Its a purple rectangle with holes in it. Also, any chance you can address the machine LOCKING after a cycle begins and how to get the fabric softner inside? And how to know when the rinse cycle starts? Or are we supposed to stand next to the machine the entire time and then try to pry the lib open?

What settings must I select when using the tide pod? Do I put the normal cycles I usually do now? If the pod has built in softener do I select the 2nd rinse function? Asking as my washer does not have a softener dispenser.

Asked by: TampaQuestions2
Hi TampaQuestions1, Thank you for reaching out to us! With Tide pods there is no need to set a specific setting. They can be put in and selected just as you would a generic detergent wash cycle. We hope this helps and have a great day! Drew@GEA

When adding soap,do we do it immediately after adding the clothes even though there is not enough water?I would like to add powder oxi clean but I seem to find that it is not dissolving. What is the proper way to do it? Is soil level the size of load?

Asked by: coco101
Hello, coco101, Thank you so much for reaching out to us. We really appreciate the opportunity to help. We would recommend adding the detergent before you close the lid and start the cycle. The soil level is the setting for how dirty or soiled the load is. We would definitely recommend making sure you are using the exact amount of detergent as too much can absolutely be the reason for it not dissolving. The last thing we would check is the inlet water temperature and make sure that it's hitting 120 degrees. We hope this helps out some. Let us know if you have any other questions. Jonathon@GEA

How does auto soak work on this machine. Does it have a customizeable water level

Asked by: Tabby58
Hi Tabby58, thanks for reaching out! The Auto Soak cycle saves time and improves cleaning capability. This option begins with a brief agitation, soaks for a specified period of time, then moves through the rest of the cycle automatically. Repeated pressing of the Soak button will scroll through 15 minute, 30 minute, 1 hour and 2 hour selections and then return back to 0 soak minutes. The amount of water is determined by the soil level you select, as in any of the other cycle options. We hope this helps! -Megan@GEA

Hi Kck55tree, Thank you for reaching out to us and choosing GE Appliances for your home. We apologize for our delay responding and to hear you are having an issue. We are happy to help. We recommend making sure the washer is paused (press Start/Pause). During spin, this can take up to 3 minutes for the basket to stop spinning and allow you to open the lid. Hello my wash comes out with a lot of lint on them. what can I do about this?

Asked by: BigBlue145
Hi BigBlue145! Thanks for reaching out to us. We're sorry that your clothes are coming out with a lot of lint on them. We see how this can be frustrating. You will want to make sure that you separate lint producers from lint collectors. You will also want to loosely load clothes in the washer basket. For best results, load items around the outside of the basket. If you have already done this, we recommend washing small loads for a shorter time using the Light Soil setting. The detergent may not be dissolving. You can rewash the clothes and next time try a liquid detergent and use warmer water temperature. If you're using fabric softener, make sure that you are using it correctly. Check the fabric softener package for instructions and follow directions for using the dispenser. You will also want to select the Deep Rinse option. You can find instructions on how to use your fabric softener dispenser on page 14 of the washer's Use and Care manual online at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf We hope this helps! Hello Heavenly50! Thanks for your question. A washer is not limited in practical terms by the pounds or weight of clothes it can wash. It is limited by the volume of clothes that can be put in the machine. To determine the proper amount of clothes the washer can handle, they should fit below the balance ring of the washer tub and not be stuffed too tightly. We hope this helps. Emily@GEA

Do I add liquid detergent before or after adding clothes? The Use and Care Manual and the Quick Reference Guide contradict each other. The Use Manual says to add detergent to the top of the load, but the Quick Reference Guide says to add detergent first.

Asked by: jeff272
Hello jeff272, Thank you for reaching out. We do apologize for the confusion on information and we're happy to clarify. For Powdered Detergent: Place the clothes in the basket first then add the powdered detergent. For Liquid Detergent: It can be added before or after the clothes are added. Can you use fabric softener with this model...if so where does it go?

Asked by: jaemarie
Hi jaemarie, Thanks for reaching out! For models GTW490 and GTW500 only. If liquid fabric softener is desired, wait until the Rinse cycle status light is lit and the final rinse fill is complete before adding the recommended amount of liquid fabric softener directly to the rinse bath. When adding liquid fabric softener, pour into deeper areas of rinse water while avoiding direct contact with fabric. This information was found on page 13 of your Owner's Manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf We hope that this helps!
